Vassiliki Koumpli is an Athens-based Supreme Court Lawyer, Mediator and Mediation Trainer as well as Arbitrator FCIArb.
She has studied law in Athens and London and has been extensively trained in negotiation, mediation and arbitration by renowned institutions (CIArb, CEDR, Harvard Kennedy School etc.). She accepts appointments as Mediator and Arbitrator, being listed in the rosters held by leading service providers, including the EU Commission DG for Trade Panel of Arbitrators and TSD Experts in bilateral disputes under EU’s trade agreements with third countries, while she is lead Mediation Trainer at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences.
Apart from her activity as third neutral in ADR processes, she is Senior Associate at Watson Farley & Williams, advising corporate clients concerning a range of energy projects on all aspects of the applicable energy regulatory framework, EU law and competition law, as well as on environmental and climate change laws and regulations. Moreover, she handles the legal aspects of complex infrastructure projects at all stages (from planning, funding and development to operation, management and decommissioning), dealing with specific regulations and contracts (PPP/PFI, EPC, O&M etc.).
In addition, being Senior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Institute of International and Foreign Law for more than two decades, Vassiliki has also gained significant experience in international law and EU law, and she is familiar with foreign laws of all jurisdictions of the world (civil law, common law, religious laws).
She is member of various organisations and regularly publishes and participates as speaker in conferences in the fields of energy law and ADR, repeatedly serving as Greece’s national reporter at international legal fora.
